Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is scheduled for Monday, December 10th through Friday, December 14th. Students will attend the fair with their class during their regularly scheduled library time. If your child wishes to make a purchase, please send him/her to school with either cash or a check made payable to “Douglas School PTO” or set up a digital wallet option (new this year).  Also new is an online shopping book fair with an expanded time line, opening on December 2nd and running through December 18th.  Visit the Douglas Homepage on the Scholastic Website to access the online book fair and to set up your digital wallet at http://www.scholastic.com/bf/douglasschoolacton
Families are welcome to visit the fair with their child’s class or during any time the fair is open.  In addition, a Family Night is schedule for Tuesday evening, December 11th from 6:00-8:30 pm. Shop the fair and listen to a spectacular lineup of Douglas teachers and staff reading from some of their favorite books. The book fair’s hours are as follows:
Monday (12/10) 10–11 am & 12:30-3:00 pm
Tuesday (12/11) 10:30–11:30 am & 12:30-3:10 pm
                                           Family Night 6-8:30 pm
Wednesday (12/12) 11:30 am-3:00 pm
Thursday (12/13) 11 am-1:15 pm
Friday (12/14) 8:30-9:00am & 10:30 am-3:00 pm

 

Please consider volunteering to help the book fair run smoothly. Individuals are needed to help students find books, to restock the shelves, and to help set-up and break down the fair. The PTO funds financial assistance for the Book Fair. If you would like your child(ren) to pick an item from the Book Fair, but money is a barrier, your child(ren) will be allowed to make a purchase up to a value of $8 at the fair. This assistance is 100% confidential. You only need to contact Dr. Whitbeck (cwhitbeck@abschools.org) or our school counselor, Mrs. Bonnell (hbonnell@abschools.org).
