Being in sixth grade has lots of perks and responsibilities. Daily, one or two sixth graders are assigned to do the morning announcements. Students broadcast timely notices from the Douglas office, including daily lunch choices, local or national news and student birthdays. They lead the pledge of allegiance and a moment of silence. Typically, the radio broadcast ends with a quote for the day. By the end of the school year, each sixth grader has had a chance to participate in "Radio Douglas".
