Nature's Classroom is a unique educational experience for sixth grade students and their teachers, offering the very best in environmental education. At Nature's Classroom, students take an active role in their education by participating in exciting hands-on interdisciplinary classes that extend and reinforce many of the concepts learned at Douglas. Douglas sixth graders have attended Nature's Classroom for a three-day, two-night experience each year since 2008. (Nature's Classroom is a private non-profit corporation.) Sign up and medical forms, including a suggested packing list, are provided by Nature's Classroom approximately 6 weeks before the beginning of the session and are sent home to students at that time. Students can expect all possible New England weather during their stay and should pack accordingly. Rain does not stop students from participating in the outdoor classrooms -- be prepared! Students should leave all electronic devices at home.
Here is a suggested packing list.
