Graduation is held the last day of school at Douglas. The sixth graders perform a spectacular musical program. It is a wonderful way to end the year. The PTO and parents of the fifth grade class provide a reception and favors.
Dr. Whitbeck invites parents to attend, as well as Douglas siblings. (Parents should send a note in advance to siblings' teachers and stop in at the office on the day of the event to have them sent to the cafeteria. Please do not ask siblings to meet you in the cafeteria.) Graduates should wear appropriate clothing: girls should wear blouses and skirts/dress slacks or dresses, and boys should wear dress shirts and pants. Please park at the Elm St. tennis courts, as there is a possibility of getting ticketed if you park on Elm St.
Directly following Graduation Exercises, there is an outdoor reception in front of the school, held by the Douglas PTO. The PTO provides refreshments. This is a great opportunity to celebrate with Douglas School teachers and staff, friends and parents, and to get yearbooks signed.
