At Douglas School, we believe that it is important for children to have a broad perspective on their community and their world. Our formal and informal curriculum asks students to to look beyond the boundaries of the school and the town of Acton, to understand their place within a global society. With that in mind, we strive to involve children in projects and initiatives that will raise their awareness of the connections between all people. Much of our outreach and fundraising work is focused on a partnership we have established through Free the Children, but we also have many smaller-scale projects that engage our students in a range of ways. Sometimes the projects come from a single student who is looking to make a difference. We have summarized some of our recent efforts here.
